In the first half, Paraguay surprised by taking a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute through Julio Enciso, but in the second half the "German Eagles" quickly leveled the score at 1-1 in the 54th minute thanks to Kai Havertz. The 90 minutes ended with this score.
