Scholes Strongly Criticizes One Nations Poor Football Performance at World Cup 2026

Scholes strongly criticized one nation at the 2026 World Cup for playing very poorly.

Paul Scholes, former England midfielder, sharply criticized the England national team under Thomas Tuchel’s management, saying they played very poorly despite reaching the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup. He also questioned why Kobby Menu, the Manchester United midfielder, had not played even a single minute.

Scholes admitted feeling disappointed that Thomas Tuchel, England’s manager, overlooked Menu and barely used Arsenal forward Eberechi Eze in this World Cup, although Scholes considers both to be very good players.

Scholes said, “There’s no way he (Tuchel) will let Menu play. He absolutely won’t do that, no way. Believe me, I don’t know why he even selected Menu for this World Cup.”

“You know? It might not be right for Menu at this moment. He’s been there three or four weeks but hasn’t played a single game.”

“I think England’s performance has been very poor. We brought in Thomas Tuchel because he managed big teams and played excellent football, but I feel like we’ve turned him into an English-style manager already.”

“The two best players he has are Kobby Menu and Eberechi Eze, but he doesn’t play them. These two could help the team play well, but he won’t put them on the field.”
