Yamal delivers a sharp challenge to France after Spain advanced to the 2026 World Cup semifinals.
Lamine Yamal, Spain's attacking player, said that if the France national team should fear any team, it should be Spain, since Spain has beaten France in their last two encounters. They are set to meet again in the 2026 World Cup semifinals on 15 July.
Spain defeated Belgium 2-1 in the 2026 World Cup quarterfinals last night, advancing to face France, who beat Morocco in their quarterfinal match.
This will be the third meeting between Spain and France in three years, with Spain winning the last two encounters in the Euro 2024 semifinals and the 2025 UEFA Nations League.
Yamal said, "If France has to fear any team, it should be us."
"We have already eliminated them before. We've beaten them twice. Honestly, I think we are the two best teams in the World Cup. So we'll see what happens, but we are not afraid of anything."
