FIFA Orders 2,026 World Cup Champion Rings for 2026 Winners Remaining 1,996 to Be Sold to Fans

FIFA has ordered special rings to be made to award the team that wins the 2026 World Cup, with the remaining 1,996 rings to be sold to fans.

On 17 July 2026, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) commissioned special rings to present to the team that wins the 2026 World Cup, marking a first in history, as previously the champion team only received the World Cup trophy and winner's medals.

Though awarding champion rings is new in football, it is a customary practice in American sports such as football and basketball. FIFA has ordered a total of 2,026 rings, each designed with the World Cup trophy engraved on one side, and the other side customized to reflect the identity and characteristics of the champion nation. Every ring carries a unique serial number and certificate of authenticity.

Of these rings, 30 will be given to the winning team. Officials will measure each player's finger size before production to ensure a perfect fit, after which the rings will be delivered to the champions. The remaining 1,996 rings will be sold to fans interested in collecting them. Prices have not yet been announced, but many expect them to be quite high due to their rarity.

The 2026 World Cup final will feature a match between the "La Roja" Spain, winners of Euro 2024, and Argentina, the defending champions from 2022. The game is scheduled for the night of 19 July 2026 (early morning of 20 July) at 02:00 Thailand time.
