Tuchel reveals his dissatisfaction after England defeated Norway to reach the World Cup semifinals.
Thomas Tuchel, England's national team coach, admitted he was unhappy with his team's performance, despite their 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway that secured their place in the 2026 World Cup semifinals.
Tuchel said, “Today we made things very difficult for ourselves. I am not satisfied with the performance in any aspect. We were lucky to win. The result is excellent—we have reached the final four, which is remarkable—but I want to emphasize that I am not happy with how we played.”
“The commitment was there, but we made things hard for ourselves through our own style of play. There were tactical mistakes, we were not fast enough, and we did not play with enough continuity. We were truly fortunate.”
“We will improve. We must get better. Now is the time to celebrate and absorb everything. We need everything to deliver a better performance.”
