Strong Favorite Emerges in Latest 2026 World Cup Championship Odds After Semifinalists Set

Strong favorite emerges in the latest 2026 World Cup championship odds after the four semifinalists have been decided.

On 12 July 2026 GMT+7, Opta, a leading football statistics expert, released the latest supercomputer predictions on which nation has the highest chance to win the 2026 World Cup after the final four teams reached the semifinals.

It turns out that France, two-time former world champions, firmly hold the top favorite spot to win the 2026 World Cup after winning all six matches from the group stage through the quarterfinals, most recently beating Morocco 2-0 to advance to face Spain in the semifinals.

Spain follows as the second favorite after narrowly defeating Belgium 2-1 in the quarterfinals, conceding their first goal of the tournament. Although they face France next, if they get past them, they have a strong chance to claim their second World Cup title.

England remains the third favorite despite somewhat troubled performances but remains unbeaten. In the quarterfinals, they trailed Norway but came back to win 2-1 in extra time.

Meanwhile, defending champions Argentina are only the fourth favorite after struggling through their last three knockout rounds: winning 3-2 in extra time against Cape Verde in the round of 32; coming from behind to win 3-2 against Egypt in the round of 16; and winning 3-1 in extra time against a 10-man Switzerland in the quarterfinals.
