Not afraid to be wrong, Terry predicts the Spain vs Argentina matchup in the 2026 World Cup final.
"Terry" predicts Spain will defeat Argentina to win the 2026 World Cup.
John Terry, Chelsea and England legend defender, has predicted that Spain will beat Argentina to claim the 2026 World Cup title.
Spain reached the final by beating France 2-0, while Argentina advanced by defeating England 2-1.
Although Terry was impressed by Argentina's "determination" in their match against England and said anything is possible with the great Lionel Messi on the team, he still believes Spain will lift the World Cup trophy.
"Having been on the field during both semi-finals, I have to say that to me, Spain are the favorites to win the championship."
"Both teams played very well in possession, but watching Argentina last night, everything went to their right side with Lionel Messi. Every time they switched to the left, it quickly returned to the right."
"Marc Cucurella was the man of the match in the semi-final, and Spain looked very strong on the left side. Also, not conceding any goals to France and barely any in this World Cup is incredible. In my opinion, they have more potential than Argentina."
"What I liked about Argentina in the game against England was that after challenges, every player would rush to contest the ball and create a bit of chaos."
"They play very much as a team and show determination, but I still think Spain will narrowly win."
The Argentina national team will face Spain in the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday night, 19 July, at 02:00 Thai time.
