Lionel Scaloni, coach of Argentina's national team, praised all his players, including captain Lionel Messi, for their full dedication, even though they ultimately lost 0-1 to Spain and narrowly missed winning the 2026 World Cup.
Scaloni said, "First of all, I sincerely apologize for what happened. We faced many unexpected injury problems in key positions. We had to replace three of our four defenders. This is not an excuse, but our players worked extremely hard to get this far."
