Massive FIFA Revenue in 2026 World Cup Nearly Doubles That of 2022 Tournament

Massive: examining FIFA's revenue figures from the 2026 World Cup, which are nearly double those of the 2022 World Cup.

On 22 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Massive reviewed the revenue figures of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) from the world's biggest football event, the 2026 World Cup, which recently concluded. The revenue nearly doubled compared to the previous World Cup in 2022 held in Qatar.

FIFA earned $13 billion from the 2026 World Cup, approximately 437.27 billion baht, surpassing the target of $11 billion (around 370 billion baht), marking the highest revenue in history. By comparison, the 2022 World Cup generated $7.5 billion, about 252.27 billion baht.

The significant revenue increase this year was due to a higher number of participating teams and increased ticket prices. FIFA is currently studying the feasibility of expanding the 2030 World Cup from 48 to 64 teams to further increase revenue.
