"Gavi" responds clearly on the issue of "Argentina" possibly facing a ban after clashing with Spain following their failure to win the 2026 World Cup.
On 22 July 2026, Gavi, the young midfielder of Spain's national team and 2026 World Cup champion, spoke for the first time after becoming involved in a chaotic incident following the final match victory over Argentina, 1-0 in extra time.
Although Spain won the 2026 World Cup, the post-match brawl has continued to be widely discussed. Gavi was pushed to the ground by Argentina's midfielder Leandro Paredes after confrontations involving other players. Fortunately, the situation was diffused before escalating further.

Recently, 21-year-old Gavi sought to cool tensions between Spain and Argentina when asked if Paredes and Argentina should be banned. "Not at all. Honestly, I don't think they should be banned," he said.
"I understand it might look bad from a child's perspective, but I see that football also has elements of aggression and intensity," Gavi told the Spanish media outlet Cope.
"For me, the most reasonable solution might just be to send him off during the match. But, as I said, in the end, it's football, and it's always been like this."
