"Vozinha," hero of the Cape Verde national team, has seen his salary nearly triple after joining Colo-Colo in the Chilean league.
On 29 July 2026, Vozinha, the 40-year-old goalkeeper for Cape Verde who became a global fan favorite during the 2026 World Cup, officially transferred from Chaves, a Portuguese second division club, to Chilean giant Colo-Colo, with a significant salary increase.
Previously, Vozinha was an unattached goalkeeper during the World Cup after his contract with Chaves expired. However, his incredible saves in Cape Verde's goalless draw against reigning champions Spain, as well as his performance in the 2-3 extra-time loss to Argentina, made him famous worldwide.
