Thai volleyball player Mome Thanatcha named MVP of the South Korean volleyball league; her teammates did not miss the chance to celebrate by splashing water on her.
On 26 Nov 2025 GMT+7, following the 2025-26 KOVO V-League season in South Korea, Mome Thanatcha Suksod's impressive form helped her team, Korea Expressway Hi-Pass, win at home against GS Caltex 3-1 sets (25-12, 29-27, 26-28, 25-21), earning full 3 points. This marked their ninth consecutive league win, reaching 25 points and extending a 9-point lead over second-place Pepper Bank.
This nine-match winning streak ranks as the club's second-longest consecutive victory record, with the highest being 12 consecutive wins during the 2021-2022 season.
In this match, Thanatcha excelled both offensively and defensively, scoring 18 points and digging 23 balls to support the team. Korean media recognized her as a key player in both attack and defense, awarding her the match MVP.
After the game, the atmosphere was joyful. While Thanatcha was giving an interview after receiving the MVP award, teammates secretly prepared one to two bottles of water each. The team’s top scorer, Moma, climbed a chair behind the back row, ready to splash water from above. As soon as the interview ended, everyone drenched Mome with water.
After the game, Mome expressed her happiness about the team’s victory and her commitment to doing her best to help secure more wins. She thanked her teammates and coaching staff for their hard work. She also shared that earlier in the season, her coach teased her about her serving, which was not strong at first, but now her serves have improved and are making a difference for the team.
