
The Thailand women's national volleyball team showcased their champion caliber by sweeping Indonesia 3-0 in sets to advance to the 2025 SEA Games gold medal match against Vietnam.
On 14 December 2025 GMT+7, the Thailand women's national volleyball team competed in the semifinals of the 2025 ASEAN Games against Indonesia. Their clear goal was to defend their gold medal title, having won it 16 times previously and secured 12 consecutive championships from 2001 to 2023.
Earlier in the group stage, the Thai team displayed world-class performance by defeating Singapore and the Philippines 3-0 in sets in both matches, advancing to the semifinals without dropping a set.
In the semifinal's first set, Indonesia put up a strong fight early on, but Thailand accelerated their scoring near the end, winning the set 25-15 to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, Thailand gained momentum and maintained a wide lead throughout. Although they made several errors late in the set allowing Indonesia to close the gap, Thailand ultimately controlled the game and won 25-21, leading 2-0 in sets.
In the third set, Thailand continued their excellent form, building a 10-point lead midway through before closing out the set decisively at 25-15.
The match ended with the Thailand women's volleyball team defeating Indonesia 3-0 in sets, advancing to the final against Vietnam, the top-ranked ASEAN competitor who also beat the Philippines 3-0 in their semifinal.
The final will take place on 15 December 2025 GMT+7 at 17:00 at the Huamark Indoor Stadium. Thai sports fans are encouraged to support the women's team as they aim for their 17th SEA Games gold medal.
