Explosive Start to the 2026 Thailand Volleyball League! 16 Mens and Womens Teams Open the Season on 7 Jan

The largest professional volleyball tournament in Thailand, "TVA Channel Volleyball Thailand League 2026," features 16 men's and women's teams competing across 3 venues, with the opening round scheduled for 7–10 January.

Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, chaired the press conference for the professional volleyball tournament "TVA CHANNEL Volleyball Thailand League 2026." Also present were Thiti Pruekscha-um, Chairman of the Professional Sports Division of the Volleyball Association of Thailand; Nittaya Koetjanuk, Director of the Office of Professional Sports Committee, Sports Authority of Thailand; Thanukiat Chanchum, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund; Chanyan Thamrongwinitchai, General Manager of Marketing Activities at The Mall Group Co., Ltd.; Kriangkrai Wilailak, Assistant Director of Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Center; Jultai Salikupat, Sports Program Director at TrueVisions NOW Public Company Limited; Somsri Prutipan, CEO of One Thirty-One Company Limited; and Surachai Satitakorn, General Manager of Mikasa Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The press conference took place in Suphanhong 1 Room, Alexander Hotel Bangkok, on Monday, 5 January.

Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, expressed his great pleasure on behalf of the association for the cooperation from all partners that made the organization of the "TVA CHANNEL Volleyball Thailand League 2026" possible. He thanked the athletes, clubs, staff, and sponsors involved for their hard work in advancing professional volleyball in Thailand, continuously promoting the sport, and bringing honor and pride to the nation.

The Volleyball Association of Thailand believes that with strong cooperation from all partners—including event hosts, clubs, and all officials involved—the tournament will be successfully conducted and achieve its objectives.

Thiti Pruekscha-um, Chairman of the Professional Sports Division of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, stated that the association remains committed to developing and elevating the standards and appeal of professional volleyball competitions. This aims to bring joy to Thai sports fans while providing opportunities for club athletes to develop their potential and advance to the national team, bringing honor and pride to the country.

This year’s competition features 16 teams from 15 clubs, divided into 8 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams. The tournament will span 12 weeks, divided into 4 phases: Leg 1, Leg 2, the Final Four round, and the Finals, using 3 venues:

1. MCC Hall, 3rd Floor, The Mall Lifestore Bangkae, Bangkok for weeks 1–3, 6, 8, and 10.

2. Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Center, Nakhon Ratchasima Province for weeks 4–5 and 9. 3. MCC Hall, 3rd Floor, The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi, Bangkok for weeks 7 and 11–12. Matches can be watched live at the venues or via the TrueVisions NOW app, channel one31, and GMM 25.

Additionally, there is a cheerleader contest. Participating cheerleaders must register for free and select the team they support. Each time they attend a match, they must notify the judges. The judges assign seating zones and score participants cumulatively until the Final round as follows:

1. Consistency: Attending to cheer every time their team plays earns 20 points per occasion.

2. Creativity: Cheer style, music, costumes, coordination, and politeness are scored from 1 to 10 points.

The prize money is as follows:

Champion: 100,000 baht.

First runner-up: 50,000 baht.

Second runner-up: 20,000 baht.

Third runner-up: 5,000 baht.

Nittaya Koetjanuk, Director of the Office of Professional Sports Committee, Sports Authority of Thailand, said that volleyball is a sport with an established professional competition system. The Sports Authority of Thailand continuously supports the organization of professional volleyball leagues to raise competition standards, athlete development systems, and sports personnel to international levels, as well as to promote stable careers and incomes for athletes and staff, contributing to sustainable economic value for the country.

The Sports Authority of Thailand, through the Office of Professional Sports Committee, supports the Volleyball Association of Thailand as the event organizer and promotes efficient management of professional volleyball clubs to elevate Thailand’s professional volleyball competitions to international recognition.

Finally, she offered encouragement to all athletes and personnel to perform to their fullest and wished the "TVA Channel Volleyball Thailand League 2026" a successful tournament that meets all objectives.

Thanukiat Chanchum, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund, said the fund is providing budget support for this tournament with the goal of elevating Thailand’s volleyball capabilities regionally and internationally through developing professional athletes, clubs, competitions, and related personnel, while also promoting the economy, generating income for athletes, and bringing joy to sports spectators.

The fund recognizes the importance of domestic sports activities which not only develop the sports sector but also create economic and tourism value and sustainably enhance the significance of Thai volleyball.

Finally, he thanked the Volleyball Association of Thailand and all sponsors for their continuous efforts in advancing national sports and wished for the tournament’s success in bringing happiness to the public and real benefits to the country.

The 8 women’s teams are Nakhon Pathom SSRU, Khon Kaen University Khon Kaen Star, Kanchanaburi Power VC, Harud Chonburi Rajamangala Thanyaburi VC, Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC, Ang Thong National Sports University VC, Nakhon Nonthaburi, and defending champion Supreme Thipya Chonburi-E.Tech.
