
“Dechapol Puavaranukroh” and “Sapsiree Taerattanachai” defeated the French pair 2-0 to advance to the semifinals against the world No. 1 at the “India Open 2026.”
The Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2026, a World Tour Super 750 badminton event held in India, took place on 16 January. In the mixed doubles quarterfinals, "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Sapsiree Taerattanachai, ranked No. 4 in the world, faced Tom Leung and Delphine Delrue, the world No. 5 mixed doubles team from France. Notably, the Thai pair had narrowly lost 1-2 to this French pair at the 2025 World Tour Finals late last year.
The result showed that “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Sapsiree Taerattanachai played with greater precision and confidence, winning comfortably 2-0 with scores of 21-6, 21-15 in 35 minutes. This victory improved the Thai pair’s head-to-head record to four wins out of six encounters.
In the semifinals, “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Sapsiree Taerattanachai will face Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping, the world No. 1 pair from China, who narrowly defeated Goh Soon Huat and Lai Shevon Jemie, the world No. 10 pair from Malaysia, 2-1 with scores of 21-19, 19-21, 21-18.
