“Jai” Wins Double Sprint Championships to Close Thailand Track Cycling Series Round 1



“Jai Angsutasawit” clinched double championships in the individual sprint and team sprint events in the men's open category, concluding the Thailand Track Cycling Championship Round 1 for the Queen Sirikit Challenge Trophy 2026.


The Thailand Track Cycling Championship Round 1 for the Queen Sirikit Challenge Trophy 2026 was held from 30 January to 1 February 2026 at the Velodrome within the Sports Authority of Thailand in Huamark. The final day on 1 February featured 30 gold medals contested, with live broadcasts on Facebook Live via Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as YouTube: TCA Channel, attracting over 5,000 combined viewers.


Notable results included the men's open sprint where “TJ” Jai Angsutasawit, a Thai national team cyclist from the 33rd SEA Games and member of the Fisherman Friend Rama 3 team, took first place as expected. Jai also won the team sprint gold alongside Police Sergeant Major Yuenyong Petchrat from the Border Patrol Police Command STC-THULE and Mr. Jakraphan Janwat Siri of Amino Vital-Summit Nich, finishing in 1:07.740 minutes. Second place went to Warrant Officer Archon Petchrat of the Navy Siam Technology College Corenutrition team, and third to Petty Officer First Class Norasetthada Boonma of the Air Force KOM-KOM cycling team.


In the women's open sprint, first place was claimed by Ms. Nattaporn Apimot of Fisherman Friend Chiang Mai, followed by Sergeant Kanyarat Nokaeo of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence, and third by Ms. Apisara Srimongkol of Team Prime19.


For the men's youth sprint, Sirawit Sansai from Bangkok Sports School & Roojai team took first place, with Kantaphat Phosri of HERO BIKE - CK RACING - Ayutthaya Wittayalai School second, and Khunanon Rodsuphan of Bangkok Sports School & Roojai third.


In the women's open keirin event, Ms. Nattaporn Apimot of Fisherman Friend Chiang Mai finished first, Ms. Apisara Srimongkol of Team Prime19 was second, and Sergeant Kanyarat Nokaeo of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence placed third.


The 4 km pursuit for the women's open category saw Ms. Apisara Srimongkol of Team Prime19 win with a time of 6:03.918 minutes, followed closely by Ms. Nattaporn Apimot of Fisherman Friend Chiang Mai at 6:04.212 minutes, and third place went to Ms. Phetlada Mankong of Fisherman Friend Wing 46 Phitsanulok, who caught up with her competitor in the 6th lap.


In the women's under-23 4 km pursuit, Ms. Apisara Srimongkol of Team Prime19 again took first place in 6:03.918 minutes, achieving a double championship after winning two titles on the first day. Second place was Ms. Phetlada Mankong of Fisherman Friend Wing 46 Phitsanulok, who caught up with her opponent on the 6th lap, and third was Ms. Thaninyaporn Singthong of Fisherman Friend Wat Dong Noi, who was caught on the 6th lap.


The men's open 4 km pursuit was won by Mr. Peeraphong Ladngern of the Royal Thai Police team, who caught his rival on the 6th lap. Mr. Pongpol Amornpiyakrit of the Police Cycling Team-Koki took second, being caught on the 6th lap, and third went to Mr. Thanawat Santa of the Air Force KOM-KOM team, who caught his opponent on the 4th lap.


In the men's open scratch race, Mr. Thanawut Sanikwatee of the Air Force KOM-KOM team won first place, followed by Mr. Natkrit Kaewnoi of Fisherman Friend Wing 46 Phitsanulok in second, and Mr. Phonwat Sakulthanapoom of the same Fisherman Friend team in third.


The men's under-23 scratch race saw Mr. Natkrit Kaewnoi of Fisherman Friend Wing 46 Phitsanulok claim first place, Mr. Thanawat Santa of Air Force KOM-KOM came second, and Mr. Yannachana Chomphusri of Fisherman Friend Wing 46 Phitsanulok finished third.


In the men's open 30 km points race, Warrant Officer Patthomphop Phlorjatan of the Air Force KOM-KOM team scored 59 points to win first place. Second was Staff Sergeant Kittidech Chaimusik of the Army Cycling Team with 57 points, and third was Mr. Pongpol Amornpiyakrit of the Police Cycling Team-Koki with 50 points. The next events organized by the Cycling Association will be the mountain bike road race and the Thailand Open road cycling championship for the Queen Sirikit Challenge Trophy 2026 Round 1, to be held at Khao Phraya Dern Thong Municipality, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province, on 14-15 February.
