
Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University celebrates UNESCO's recognition of the "Queen of Golf" as a world important figure and honors her legacy at a special occasion.
Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University organized the charity golf tournament "RBRU Golf Ryder Cup 2026" to honor the gracious legacy of Queen Rambhai Barni, Queen in the reign of King Rama VII, on the 121st anniversary of her birth, and to celebrate UNESCO's recognition of her as a world important figure.
Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Boonyin Jinachin, Chairperson of Burapha Concrete and Construction Company Limited, Professor Dr. Prakit Thianboon, ex officio member of the university council and Chair of the University Promotion Committee, along with Mr. Sitthiporn Krutnak, Vice President of the University Council, jointly hosted the charity golf tournament "RBRU Golf Ryder Cup 2026" at Rambhai Barni Golf Course. The event honored the gracious legacy of Queen Rambhai Barni on the 121st anniversary of her birth and celebrated UNESCO's recognition of her as a world important figure. Additionally, Mr. Sutin Darunyothin, Chairman of the Thai Golf Foundation, announced a collaboration through the "Route of Girl Golf Game" project, aiming to use sports as a tool for comprehensive human development and to promote social equality.
General Wutinan Leelayut, President of the Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University Council, led the executive team and distinguished guests in a royal tribute ceremony, praising the Queen's sporting prowess for which she was honored as the "Queen of Golf." The golf course itself evolved from royal grounds intended for educational use and community service.
Mr. Monsit Paisanthanawat, Governor of Chanthaburi and ceremony chair, stated that this event is a cherished tradition honoring Queen Rambhai Barni and strengthens the unity and affection between the people of Chanthaburi and the university.
Associate Professor Waikoon Thong-arom, President of Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, explained that the event comprised three main activities: the Junior Golf Ryder Cup youth competition, the Rambhai Barni Golf Ryder Cup, and a charity golf drive. These aim to continue the Queen's legacy and enhance students' potential through practical learning.
Furthermore, Mr. Sutin Darunyothin, Chairman of the Thai Golf Foundation, announced collaboration through the "Route of Girl Golf Game" project, hoping to use sports as a means for holistic human development and to foster social equality.
Meanwhile, Associate Professor Dr. Boonyin Jinachin, Chairperson of Burapha Concrete Company, praised the event's success, noting it not only served as a sports competition but also inspired youth and students to become quality individuals with focus and sportsmanship modeled after Queen Rambhai Barni.
During the event, a signed golf cap by "Pro Jeen" Atthaya Thitikul, the world's number one female golfer by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), was auctioned off for a total of 59,999 baht. This success reflects the strong cooperation of all sectors in Chanthaburi province working together to create socially beneficial activities.
