
Thai men's singles rise impressively! “View Kulwut” closes in on world No. 1 while “Ikyu” makes a significant leap in world rankings after earning runner-up finishes in two consecutive tournaments.
On 5 Feb 2026, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced the world rankings for week 6 of 2026, dated 3 Feb. Nine Thai badminton players ranked within the global top 35. The highlight in men's singles was Panitchaphon Teeraratskul, known as “Ikyu,” who climbed seven places in the world rankings.
In men's singles, “View” Kulwut Vitidsarn remains world No. 2 with 100,079 points. Qi Yuchen retains the top spot with 108,247 points. Meanwhile, “Ikyu” Panitchaphon Teeraratskul, who recently finished runner-up at the Thailand Masters 2026 and the Indonesia Masters, jumped seven places from 36th to 29th in the world rankings.
In women's singles, “May” Ratchanok Intanon holds world No. 7 with 69,964 points, followed by “Mew” Pornpawee Chochuwong at No. 8 with 67,258 points; “May” Supanida Katethong ranks 15th (52,677 points); “Cream” Busanan Ongbamrungphan is 16th (52,610 points); and “Pink” Pitchamon Opatniput is 31st with 41,920 points.
The world No. 1 remains An Se Young from South Korea with 117,270 points. Wang Zhiyi of China is No. 2 with 103,362 points, and Chen Yufei, also from China, ranks third with 94,635 points.
In mixed doubles, “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Supissara Paewsampran maintain their world No. 3 position with 92,495 points. The top-ranked pair remain Huang Dongping and Feng Yanzhe from China, holding 107,757 points.
