
Suchai Pornchaisakudom rewarded the Thai Davis Cup team for advancing to World Group 2 and expressed hopes to see medals won at the Asian Games in Japan.
On 9 Feb 2026 GMT+7, "Big Suchai," Mr. Suchai Pornchaisakudom, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand under royal patronage, chaired the ceremony to present personal cash rewards to the Thai national players and officials who defeated the Puerto Rico national team 4-0, securing promotion to World Group 2 at the National Tennis Development Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.
Mr. Suchai congratulated all Thai national players and staff for their excellent performance and urged them to maintain their quality and standards for upcoming competitions, especially the 20th Asian Games from 19 Sep to 4 Oct 2026 GMT+7 in Japan, where he hopes the Thai team will have the opportunity to win medals.
On this occasion, the ceremony was also honored by the presence of the board of directors of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand, including General Gugeeti Srinaka, General Narongrit Isarat, Lieutenant General Uschukorn Sakornnavin—three vice presidents—and Dr. Surachai Jitpakdibodin, chief adviser to the association president.
The current Thai Davis Cup team consists of Colonel Watthana Janpaijit, board member and team manager; Pradorn Srichapan, team captain; Dr. Thanakorn Srichapan, coach; and Mr. Pantiva Chawuthai, team official and trainer. The players are Maximus Praphon Jones, Kasidit Samret, Pawit Sonlaksap, Vichaya Trongjaroenchaiyokul, and Prachya Isro.
