Jam-Nanthawut Ready to Compete in F3 2026, Aims to Challenge Front-Runners at Season Opener in Melbourne

"Jam" Nanthawut Pirompakdee, a rising Thai racing star, is ready to face a major career challenge by competing in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 (F3) season with the world-class DAMS Lucas Oil team. He aims to deliver his best performance starting from the upcoming season opener.

On 5 March 2026, the 19-year-old driver steps up to F3 after gaining continuous experience over the past three years in open-wheel racing, including Formula 4 and the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA). His impressive results last year, along with strong times in post-2025 season testing, led DAMS to sign him as their first driver for the 2026 season.

In a recent interview before the season began, Nanthawut expressed full determination to prove himself as a rookie. He said, “My goal is to be among the drivers who can compete immediately from the first race in Melbourne. I want to quickly move closer to the front runners to earn crucial points for the team and build Thailand’s reputation.”

The 2026 FIA Formula 3 season will feature 10 rounds, serving as a support race for the Formula 1 (F1) World Championship. The season opener will take place at Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia, from 6-8 March.
