The latest development in the Junior Ballers League youth basketball scene, JB League 2026, has caused a stir with the announcement of Coach Dave Sukdev Koker, known to basketball fans as King Dave, joining as one of the head coaches. He is a former Thai national team player and ASEAN champion, set to lead and develop young athletes in this year's tournament.
Coach Dave’s involvement is seen as elevating the league’s coaching standards significantly. With his extensive experience at the national level, winning the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), the Thailand Basketball League (TBL), and his head coaching role at Hoops Pro, he is ready to impart his knowledge to the young players. He plans to implement an aggressive coaching style focusing on strong defense and instilling teamwork, humility, and a relentless drive to win.
Sukdev Koker spoke about joining JB League 2026, saying, “I feel excited and honored to be part of JB League 2026. My main goal isn’t just to lead the team to championships but to pass on all my experience to the young players.”
“I want every child to absorb the values of teamwork, discipline on defense, and most importantly, the right mindset—humility and a constant hunger to improve themselves. I believe this platform will be a crucial stepping stone helping Thai youth athletes grow in the right direction.”
Kritikorn Thanamahamongkol, Chief Executive Officer of Junior Ballers League, commented on this collaboration: “Having Coach Dave, who has both national and international credentials, as a head coach is a key piece that will complete and perfect the JB League this season.”
“More importantly, Coach Dave’s experience and leadership will surely inspire and set a great example for our young athletes.”
