MGC-ASIA Partners with XPENG Thailand to Boost Ice Hockey and Support Thai Youth in ‘XPENG International 2026’

MGC-ASIA has joined forces with XPENG Thailand to support Thai youth through the ‘XPENG International Ice Hockey Cup 2026-Asia Elite Series’ for U15 and U20 categories, creating a platform to develop athletes' potential toward international levels.

Millennium Group Corporation (Asia) Public Company Limited, or MGC-ASIA, a leader in comprehensive lifestyle mobility business, has partnered with XPENG Thailand, the importer and distributor of premium high-tech smart electric vehicles under MGC-ASIA. Along with business partners including Alpha X, Sixt Car Rental Thailand, Howden Maxi, AIS, and ROYS HOTEL, they are advancing support for Thai youth development through the ‘XPENG International Ice Hockey Cup 2026-Asia Elite Series’ for under-15 and under-20 age groups. This aims to build a strong foundation for new athletes and open opportunities for higher-level competitions.

At the official press conference on 7 May 2026, Dr. Sanwut Thamchuanviriya, Executive Chairman of Millennium Group Corporation (Asia), presided over the event. Apiwat Singthaveesak, CEO of XPENG Thailand, also attended. A key highlight was the presence of “Phu” Thatchai Limpanyakul, member of the boy band BUS (because of you i shine) and former Thai national youth ice hockey player nicknamed the “Ice Prince,” along with “Pheem” Thanat Limpanyakul, a Thai national ice hockey player. At this event, Thatchai will return to the ice to play alongside his younger brother.

Dr. Sanwut Thamchuanviriya, Executive Chairman of Millennium Group Corporation (Asia) Public Company Limited, stated, “MGC-ASIA believes that supporting youth is building a strong foundation for society in the long term. Today, we are not only supporting competitions but also supporting the growth path of Thai youth.

Ice hockey is a sport that develops the body, mind, and discipline, which aligns with our approach to promote the potential of the new generation alongside sustainable organizational growth.”

Apivat Singthaveesak, CEO of XPENG Thailand, said, “XPENG is not just a premium high-tech smart electric vehicle brand but aims to be part of the lifestyle of the new generation. Previously, XPENG Thailand connected with young people through fashion and design activities.

This time, we have expanded into sports by supporting ice hockey—a sport full of energy, speed, challenge, and endurance. This reflects the brand identity of XPENG and genuinely connects us with Generation Z.”

Trong Siriwan, representative of the Sports Authority of Thailand, said, “On behalf of the Sports Authority, I am very pleased to see the progress of ice hockey in our country. Originally a niche sport, with commitment and support from many sectors, it has become more widely known and improved. The Sports Authority does not only focus on competition results but also emphasizes building a strong foundation for ice hockey to support sustainable long-term growth. I thank MGC-ASIA and XPENG Thailand for elevating competition standards to be more international and for being key supporters of athletes and sports personnel to continue bringing honor to the country.”

The ‘XPENG International Ice Hockey Cup 2026-Asia Elite Series’ will be held from 18–20 July 2026 at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena (TIIHA) in Bangkok. It features two age groups: U15 and U20. Leading ice hockey teams from Asia will participate, including Silver Monster and Frozone from Taiwan; CSA from Hong Kong; Golden Cobras and Garuda Select from Indonesia; Youth United from Chengdu; and Ice Club from Hangzhou. Thailand held athlete selection on 25–26 April for the X-Thailand team.

A total of 14 teams will participate in the competition.

The champions will receive a cash prize of 150,000 baht along with a trophy and medals. The runners-up will get 100,000 baht and medals, and the third place will receive 50,000 baht and medals.

Ice hockey originated as a modification of European stick-and-ball games, played on ice in Canada during the 19th century. It developed into a professional sport and was officially included in the Winter Olympics in 1924. Today, it is popular worldwide, requiring speed and strength on a 30x60 meter ice rink. Each team has six players: five skaters and one goalkeeper. Matches follow international standards (IIHF), divided into three 20-minute periods with 15-minute intermissions. The winner is determined by goals scored by shooting the puck into the opponent’s net.

The collaboration between MGC-ASIA and XPENG Thailand marks a significant step in combining organizational and brand innovation to create opportunities for Thai youth to showcase their potential through sport, grow with stability into the future, and strengthen international friendships.
