Roberto Baggio, the legendary Italian national team player, visits Thailand after 30 years to take part in 'TSCC'26,' the largest gathering of sports collectors.
On 16 May 2026, the Thailand Sports Collectibles Convention 2026, or TSCC'26, opened grandly as the largest event for sports memorabilia collectors, featuring over 160 booths with items ranging from athlete cards and vintage team jerseys to rare collectibles.
The highlight of the event was Roberto Baggio, nicknamed the 'Divine Ponytail,' the Italian national team legend, attending for the first time in 30 years since his previous visit to Thailand in 1996. The event offered attendees the chance to participate in a Private Signing session to receive Baggio's autograph on artwork by pookiee_art, a Thai artist known for creating a painting of Dennis Bergkamp on Dutch currency.
Roberto Baggio expressed, “Thank you to everyone who still values me. Life after football has been very simple. What matters most now is my family, and I am happy every day.”
Jitsupa Watcharaphon, Co-CEO of Thairath TV and Thairath Online, who attended TSCC'26, revealed, “Thirty years ago, Baggio visited the Thairath newspaper. That day, his picture appeared on the front page of Thairath on 29 May 1996. Today, meeting him in person again excites me on behalf of Thai people to welcome Baggio’s return.”
“I believe today’s event will energize the sports fan community in Thailand. This is truly a major sports fan community gathering. It’s the first time Thairath Sport has partnered as a media partner to expand the community base of sports enthusiasts and those interested in lifestyle collectibles and other sports-related activities. We hope to produce content that better meets our readers’ interests.”
TSCC'26 will continue for another day on 17 May at Central Westgate, 4th floor, starting from 10:00 a.m.
