
Defending champions Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran defeated a US pair 2-0 to reach the second round of the Singapore Badminton Open.
At the World Tour Super 750 badminton event, the “KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2026” held in Singapore on 27 May, the mixed doubles first round featured “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Supissara Paewsampran, the reigning champions ranked world No. 3 and seeded No. 2 in the tournament, facing Presley Smith and Jenny Kai, the world No. 21 pair from the United States, meeting for the first time.
Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran did not disappoint their fans, winning in straight games 21-15, 21-15 against Presley Smith and Jenny Kai, in a match lasting 32 minutes.
This victory allowed Dechapol and Supissara to advance to the second round, or the round of 16 pairs.
They will face the winners between Chen Zi Yi and Francesca Corbett, ranked world No. 47 from the US, and Ruben Garcia and Lucia Rodriguez, ranked world No. 42 from Spain.
