Shin Yoshida, a staff coach for the Thailand women's national volleyball team, revealed the motivational words before they defeated Bulgaria at the VNL 2026 tournament.
Following the Thailand women's national volleyball team's impressive performance, they convincingly defeated Bulgaria 3-0 sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-17), earning 6 points and climbing from 17th to 14th place on the VNL 2026 standings.
Shin Yoshida, a Japanese statistician and one of Thailand's coaching staff, said, "We prepared thoroughly to face Bulgaria."
"In the first set, when we were behind in points, we told each other not to dwell on previous points but to focus only on the next point. In Thailand, we have a saying ‘Try again, try again’—always focusing on the next point. We have to keep moving on all the time."
Next, the Thailand women's volleyball team will compete in the second round, third match of VNL 2026 against the 9th-ranked Canadian national team on Saturday, 20 June at 20:30.
