Plumjit Advises Thai Womens Volleyball Team to Play Relaxed as They Advance Past Bulgaria in VNL 2026

Plumjit Thin-kao advises younger players of the Thai women's volleyball team to play relaxed as they secured a 3-0 victory over Bulgaria in VNL 2026.

On 20 June 2026 GMT+7, following the Thai women's national volleyball team's first VNL 2026 win by defeating Bulgaria 3-0 sets, "Nong" Plumjit Thin-kao, former national team player, believes that if the Thai team plays in their own style, they can overcome any team.

Plumjit revealed that from her interactions, the younger players feel quite pressured by the competition results because this year’s stakes are high. However, she hopes they won’t be too pressured and will play freely, following their own style. Nong believes they can compete and get through it; it depends on whether the players can overcome this challenge. She views it as neither too difficult nor too easy and trusts all the players can do it.

"The game against Bulgaria was a breakthrough. From watching the first game, the players still showed signs of worry—their eyes revealed anxiety when scoring or winning each set. But yesterday, they played as themselves, expressing themselves freely. It was a good feeling. I want them to remember that feeling for future matches. I always support and cheer for them."

In VNL 2026, second venue, third match, the Thai women's national volleyball team, ranked 20th globally, will face the Canadian national team, ranked 10th, on Saturday, 20 June at 20:30 GMT+7.
