
The Volleyball Association, in collaboration with Chiang Mai Provincial Administration, is organizing the BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP women's volleyball tournament, with four nations competing from 7-9 August.
Mr. Patsakorn Rangsivathanasak, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, along with Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, co-chaired the press conference for the BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP. Also present were Mr. Pichai Lertpongadisorn, President of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Diao Woratungtrakul, Chief Operating Officer of Channel one31, and Air Force Lieutenant Commander Charnrit Wongsprasert, Honorary Secretary and Chairman of the Volleyball Association of Thailand. The event was held at the Buha Room, Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel, Bangkok, on 9 July 2026.
The BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP women's volleyball competition is scheduled from 7-9 August 2026 at the 700th Anniversary Sports Complex in Chiang Mai Province. The event aims to develop women's volleyball in ASEAN, with live broadcasts on Channel one31. Four countries will participate: Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Match schedule: 7 August at 13:00, Indonesia vs. Vietnam; at 16:30, Philippines vs. Thailand. 8 August at 13:00, Vietnam vs. Philippines; at 16:30, Thailand vs. Indonesia. 9 August at 13:00, Philippines vs. Indonesia; at 16:30, Vietnam vs. Thailand. All matches will be broadcast live on Channel one31.
Mr. Patsakorn Rangsivathanasak, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, stated that the ministry prioritizes sports development at all levels, recognizing sports as vital for human development, economic stimulation, and enhancing the country's positive image. The ministry is committed to supporting athlete and sports personnel development, raising competition standards, and promoting Thailand as a continuous host of international sports events.

Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, said, “Over the years, the association has committed to developing volleyball in all aspects—athletes, coaches, referees, competitions, and growing the fan base. Hosting the SEA V CUP is not just to find the region's best team but also to elevate member countries' volleyball standards and provide athletes with a stage to develop their potential for Asian and global competition.”
“Regarding expectations, the CV Cup will begin with men's teams in the Philippines and Indonesia, followed by women's teams in Vietnam and Thailand. The Thai women's CV Cup team has versatile players and is believed to have the potential to win the championship. The men's team faces challenges with an injured setter, but everyone is determined to give their best,” he added.
Mr. Pichai Lertpongadisorn, President of Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, said, “Chiang Mai Provincial Administration is delighted to be part of fully supporting and organizing this event, including facilitating cooperation and preparing comprehensively to ensure the competition runs efficiently, meets standards, and leaves a strong impression on participants from all countries.”

The BYD DMI 6th SEA V Cup 2026 men's competition first leg will be held in the Philippines from 15-19 July, followed by the second leg in Indonesia from 22-26 July.
For the women's category, the first leg will take place in Vietnam from 31 July to 2 August, and the second leg will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 7-9 August.
