ACC Supports Thailand Hosting 2nd Asian Balance Bike Championship in 2027

ACC supports Thailand in hosting the 2nd Asian Balance Bike Championship in 2027.

General Padej Hemkrasae revealed that the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) is ready to support Thailand as the host for the 2nd Asian Balance Bike Championship in 2027, following the great success of the inaugural event. Meanwhile, the 3rd round of the Thailand Balance Bike Championship for the Royal Cup will take place on Sunday, 19 July at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The event is highly anticipated, with winners of each round accumulating points to increase their chances of becoming the 2026 Thailand champion and earning selection as Thai representatives for the Asian Championship.

General Padej Hemkrasae, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, disclosed that the Cycling Association of Thailand is collaborating with Sino-Pacific Trading (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), IRPC Public Company Limited, Central Korat Shopping Mall, and FBT to organize the 3rd round of the Thailand Balance Bike Championship for the Royal Cup of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 2026. This event will be held on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

General Padej stated that the 3rd round of the Thailand Balance Bike Championship will be conducted as a racing event. The Korat Hall venue features a carpeted surface, which may have some resistance compared to asphalt, but athletes will still be able to achieve high speeds. The race course will be unveiled on Friday, 17 July at 12:00 p.m. on the Thailand Cycling Association’s Facebook page. Athletes can train on Saturday, 18 July from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A team managers’ meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat Shopping Mall. On race day, activities start at 7:30 a.m., with the opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. The event will be broadcast live on the Thailand Cycling Association’s Facebook and the TCA Channel YouTube throughout the competition.

General Padej added that the 3rd round has attracted significant interest from parents, as children in various age groups are beginning to see their chances to claim the 2026 Thailand championship. He invited parents from the Northeast region and across the country to register their children to compete, since winners accumulate points towards the national championship and influence the selection for Thailand’s representatives at the 2027 Asian Balance Bike Championship.

General Padej further reported that Dato Amjeet Singh Gill, President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), has confirmed that the 1st Asian Balance Bike Championship held on 6-7 June, initiated by Thailand, was highly successful. This achievement is not only a milestone for the Cycling Association of Thailand but also an important step for ACC and the Asian region in developing cycling sports, especially in cultivating talent that could become international cyclists in the future.

"The ACC board meeting is scheduled for 6 August during the 2026 Asian BMX Championships from 6-8 August in Nilai, Malaysia. The Cycling Association of Thailand will present its plan to expand balance bike development throughout Asia. Given the success of the first Asian Balance Bike Championship and the strong support from member nations, ACC is pleased to endorse Thailand as the host again for the 2nd edition in 2027. Preparations, including scheduling and venue selection, are underway and will be submitted to the ACC board for approval," General Padej said.

General Padej added that parents wishing to register their children for the 3rd round of the Thailand Balance Bike Championship for the Royal Cup can do so via www.thaicycling.or.th until 17 July before 5:00 p.m., or in person at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat Shopping Mall on Saturday, 18 July from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration is also available via QR code or the link https://www.thaicycling.or.th/event-onsite, which opens on 18 July from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more details, visit the Thailand Cycling Association Facebook page or call 0-2719-3340-2 during office hours.
