Olympic Hopes: Atcharaporn Reveals 2 Key Focus Areas for Thai Womens Volleyball Before Asian Championship

Olympic hopes: Atcharaporn reveals two key areas the Thai women's volleyball team must focus on before the Asian Championship.

On 14 August 2026, P'Atcharaporn Kongyot, a key player of the Thai women's national volleyball team, revealed the latest team preparations for the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship from 21-30 August in China, where the champion will automatically qualify for the 2028 Olympics.

The Thai women's volleyball team's goal is to win the 2026 Asian Championship and secure their first-ever Olympic ticket. Atcharaporn Kongyot revealed two crucial factors the team must prepare before this important competition as follows.

1. Physical condition

"After we finished the SEA V Cup, we only had about a week. Therefore, we must quickly recover our bodies. Whatever we can improve or add, we have to do it as much as possible before traveling to China next week."

"I think fixing things now may be too late. It might only be possible to do whatever it takes to have the most energy and recover the parts we used and got tired. Both in matches in Vietnam and Chiang Mai, I believe fixing things now might not be possible. The rest is just to restore as much physical strength as possible to focus solely on competing."

2. Adjusting playing rhythm

"No matter the position I play (middle blocker or back-row attacker), I will try to perform my role as best as possible to support the team. I still need to adjust my rhythm a lot, so I have to keep practicing and mainly focus on adjusting my timing."

"We talk all the time because, as everyone knows, our real goal this year is the AVC Championship and winning it to get the Olympic ticket. So, that is the main goal. We have to give it our all and put in our maximum effort."

"Therefore, we must quickly replenish all energy through nutrition and overall physical health. We have to do whatever it takes to reach that goal. We will give our absolute best, more than 100%."
