Latest Thailand women's volleyball world ranking after defeating Japan to reach the Asian Championship final, with some regrets.
On 29 August 2026, the latest world ranking of the Thailand women's volleyball team was announced following their victory over Japan in the semifinals of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship held in Tianjin, People's Republic of China.
In the match, the Thailand women's national volleyball team defeated Japan 3-1 sets, with scores of 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, and 25-20, becoming the first team to advance to the final of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
This performance earned the Thailand women's volleyball team an additional 13.97 world ranking points, increasing their total from 206.37 to 220.34 points, but they remained ranked 17th in the world.
This is because Belgium, ranked 16th in the world, still holds 221.73 points—just 1.39 points more than Thailand—so Thailand's latest women's volleyball world ranking remains at 17th place.
Nevertheless, the Thailand women's volleyball team is just one step away from qualifying for the Olympics for the first time in history, having reached the final where they will face the winner between China and Iran, fighting for a spot in the 2028 Olympics on Sunday, 30 August, at 17:45.
