Famous figures quickly congratulated the Thai women's volleyball team on qualifying for their first Olympics after winning the 2026 Asian Championship.
On 31 August 2026, the Thai women's national volleyball team made history by securing a ticket to their first Olympic Games after winning the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. They defeated host China 3-2 in sets in yesterday's final.
In addition to defending their Asian title and winning it for the 4th time, the Thai team earned a spot at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, USA, as well as qualification for the 2027 Women's World Volleyball Championship and the 2028 Asian Championship.
This achievement prompted congratulations from Hatthaya Bamrungsuk, a star Thai women's volleyball player known for her quick attacks, who had previously played with the 2026 Asian Championship-winning team but was not part of this roster due to physical condition.
Although Hatthaya Bamrungsuk was not on this historic Thai women's volleyball team, she closely followed and supported them. After the team secured the 2028 Olympic berth, she posted a congratulatory message on her personal Instagram story saying, "You all are amazing. I truly admire your spirit. So talented, so talented. You did it—you're the best."
The Thai women's volleyball team is scheduled to return to Thailand today at 21:15 hrs on Thai Airways flight TG615.
