After the Thai women's national volleyball team won the 2026 Asian Championship and qualified for the 2028 Olympics,
recently "Mome" Thanatcha Suksod, a Thai women's volleyball player from GS Caltex Seoul KIXX in South Korea's league, expressed her congratulations to the team during a media day event, saying, “I want to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone. I'm very happy that the national team won the championship, and even happier that we secured the Olympic spot, because I know how hard all the athletes have trained. That makes this honor feel even greater.”
When asked about the Thai national team's international competitiveness, Thanatcha explained in detail, “Our biggest strength is creativity. We don’t play volleyball in a rigid way but try to approach it with a variety of styles.”
“Also, in Thailand, children often start playing volleyball at a young age, giving them a mutual understanding of the game, though each player’s style remains independent. If European players excel in height and power, and Japanese players have well-structured blocking and foot speed, the Thai team mainly uses deception to outsmart opponents. We always think about how to score points from diverse angles. That is what gives us competitive potential.”
