
The fifth nation has secured a ticket to compete in women's volleyball at the 2028 Olympic Games.
On 7 September 2026, in the women's European Volleyball Championship final held in Turkey, the Turkish women's national volleyball team defeated Italy in a thrilling 3-2 set match with scores of 16-25, 25-22, 12-25, 25-21, and 15-10, claiming their second championship title and second consecutive win.
This victory not only earned Turkey the European Championship but also secured their qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
This means that five nations have now officially qualified for the women's volleyball tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games, including:
United States (host nation)
Canada (North and Central America champion)
Thailand (Asian champion)
Egypt (African champion)
Turkey (European champion)
The South American qualification tournament is the remaining event, scheduled from 9 to 14 September.
