On 7 September 2026, the latest world ranking for Thai men's volleyball was released after their thrilling narrow victory over South Korea in the second group match of Group C at the 2026 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka, Japan.
This tournament grants the champion an automatic berth to the 2028 Olympic Games. In the opening matches, Thailand beat Qatar 3-0, while South Korea defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1.
In a thrilling match, the Thai men's volleyball team defeated South Korea 3-2 sets (25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 15-12), securing their second consecutive win and increasing their total points to 5, keeping them top of Group C and ensuring qualification for the quarterfinals.
Additionally, the Thai men's volleyball team gained 8.26 world ranking points, increasing from 84.31 to a total of 92.57 points.
This improvement boosted Thailand’s world ranking by four places, moving them from 52nd to 48th worldwide, surpassing Latvia which has 92.47 points.
Their next match will be the third group C game against Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, 9 September, starting at 11:30 AM Thailand time.
