Cabinet Approves Prodpran Samanmitr as Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand Until March 2029

The Cabinet has approved 'Prodpran Samanmitr' as Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand until March 2029.

At 12:30 p.m. on 8 September at the Government House, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatthana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced after the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet resolved to approve the Ministry of Tourism and Sports' proposal to appoint Ms. Prodpran Samanmitr as Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).


This appointment follows the resolution of the Sports Authority of Thailand Board and is effective from 1 October 2026 until 31 March 2029.


Prodpran Samanmitr, nicknamed “Tua,” was born on 1 April 1969 and is currently 57 years old. She hails from Khon Kaen province. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Communication Arts, Mass Communication, from Chulalongkorn University, and a Master of Public Administration in Public and Private Sector Management from Ramkhamhaeng University.


Her career began at the Sports Authority of Thailand on 9 April 1991. She has advanced through the organization holding key roles: Director of the Public Relations Division from 2012 to 2017; Director of the Governor’s Office from 2017 to 2021; Deputy Governor for Strategy and Information Technology from 2021 to 2022; Deputy Governor for Sports Promotion from 2022 to 2024; and Deputy Governor for Professional and Boxing Sports from 2024 to present.


She has completed the National Defense Course (NDC) Class 66 for the academic years 2023-2024.


In 2026, the SAT Board selected Prodpran Samanmitr as the 14th Governor of the SAT, making her the first woman to lead the Huamark sports complex.
