2W Karting has promptly responded following the "Nong Payu" page's disappointment over the absence of an apology in the go-kart controversy.
On 21 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Thunder and Storm official, the official page of Nong Payu Rangsingpipat, son of Chompoo Araya, posted the latest update regarding the go-kart controversy.
Nong Payu, driver number 69 in the Cadet B class (ages 8-9) at the Super Kart Thailand Championship, was protested after the Final race for allegedly using an engine cylinder that did not comply with the rules, differing from the other 21 cars.
Subsequently, the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage (RAAT) investigated and confirmed the rule violation, disqualifying Nong Payu and removing his ranking, while "Nong McLaren" Pheemyaphat Lerttaweewit, son of Por Tanupat, driving car number 99, was promoted to first place for the third round.
However, seeing that the race organizers had not issued any explanation, the Thunder and Storm official page of Nong Payu posted questioning, "It has been 9 days since the drama began on 11 October until today."
"The investigation results and race outcomes have been finalized, but one thing missing is an apology or explanation from the organizers, which is quite disappointing," they wrote, also commenting under the same post, "The family has moved on, but fans still have some lingering doubts," and "This is the final post; we have moved on."
Most recently, 2W Karting posted the following statement regarding the matter.
On behalf of 2W Karting: "All 21 young drivers are equally important." Therefore, we will not comment in any way that might negatively affect any party.
The facts are:
The project's role is to promote karting as an alternative sport for Thai youth through the Junior Go-Kart Training and Junior Go-Kart Advanced Training programs, which accept 240 participants annually, have operated for more than 25 years, and have supported over 6,000 families.
The benefits of the program:
To provide children with a constructive sports activity during their free time. Beginners learn step-by-step, enjoy themselves, and gain knowledge about traffic discipline and self-development.
Opportunities for those aspiring to be athletes:
After completing the two programs organized by 2W Karting, if the children and their families dream of becoming professional athletes, 2W Karting offers sponsorship support covering 50% of kart expenses (about 95,000 baht per person) and facilitates their participation in Super Kart Thailand competitions, which has nurtured over 200 athletes for more than 25 years, with some advancing to Formula 3, Formula 2, and international racing levels.
Perspective on the recent incident:
2W Karting cannot interfere with activities where others are the main organizers. However, in principle, motorsport competitions must have clear rules, fair adjudication processes, checks and balances on referees, provisions for protests, and final decisions by national standard authorities. Even beginner youth karting competitions must strictly follow these standards.
We thank everyone for their interest and support of all young athletes, and encourage the use of constructive critical thinking and reasoned judgment.
