Bas and Fem Extend Dominance Over Taiwanese Pair with Sixth Consecutive Win to Reach Quarterfinals at 2026 India Open Badminton

Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran maintained their unbeaten streak against the Taiwanese pair with a sixth consecutive victory, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2026 India Open Badminton tournament.

At the Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2026, a World Tour Super 750 event held in India on 15 January, the mixed doubles second round featured "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Supissara Paewsampran, ranked fourth in the world, facing off against Ye Hong-Wei and Nicole Gonzalez Chan, the 15th-ranked mixed doubles pair from Taiwan. Bas and Fem had won all five previous encounters, most recently at last week's Malaysia Open, where they defeated the Taiwanese duo in straight games 21-16, 21-18.

In the first game, both pairs traded leads, but Bas and Fem proved more decisive toward the end, winning 21-18. In the second game, the Thai pair maintained their superior performance, securing the game 21-15. Bas and Fem won the match in straight games 21-18, 21-15, with a total match time of 34 minutes.

This victory secured Bas and Fem’s place in the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner between the French pair Tom Jcelgal and Delphine Delrue, ranked fifth in the world, or the new Japanese duo Hiroki Midorikawa and Nami Matsuyama.
