How Serious Is “Nong Pink”’s Injury That Led to Her Withdrawal from the Thailand Masters 2026

How serious is "Nong Pink"’s injury that caused her to withdraw from the Thailand Masters 2026 after finishing runner-up at the Indonesia Masters 2026?

On 26 Jan 2026 GMT+7, "Nong Pink" Pitchamon Ophasnipat, the rising star ranked 36th in the world who recently finished runner-up at the Indonesia Masters 2026, officially withdrew from the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2026, a World Tour Super 300 event set to begin on 27 Jan 2026.

Coach Tee Kasemsak Jatuchinda, her personal coach, revealed that Nong Pink has developed severe tightness in her thigh and back, to the point she cannot bend down, as well as cumulative injuries from competing continuously for 3-4 weeks throughout January, especially after her impressive runner-up finish at the Indonesia Masters 2026, a Super 500 level event.

"We have officially withdrawn Nong Pink from the Thailand Masters 2026 because of significant tightness in her thigh and back (unable to bend down), along with minor injuries from heavy play over several matches across 3-4 consecutive weeks. We need to prioritize her recovery so she can compete at the Asian Championships, which will be a tough event. She will travel on 1 Feb 2026," Coach Tee stated.

It is not only Nong Pink; several top Thai badminton players have also withdrawn from this tournament to preserve their physical condition, including:

"View" Kulwut Vitidsarn, the world No. 2 in men's singles, withdrew to prepare for the All England 2026 tournament.

"May" Ratchanok Intanon, ranked No. 6 in women’s singles, is dealing with a knee injury sustained during competition in Indonesia and also needs to rest ahead of major European tournaments.
