Muk-Anfield Edges Out Japan 2-1 at Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2026

Oranicha Jongsathapornpan and Sukritta Suwachai narrowly defeated Japan 2-1 at the "Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2026." The pair is nicknamed "Muk" and "Anfield." They overcame their Japanese opponents in a close contest.


The badminton tournament "Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2026," a World Tour Super 300 event, began its qualifying rounds and first round of the main draw on 27 January at Nimibutr Building, National Stadium.

In the first round of the women's doubles main draw, "Muk" Oranicha Jongsathapornpan and "Anfield" Sukritta Suwachai, ranked 51st in the world, overturned an initial game loss to beat Japan's Nanako Hara and Riko Kiyose, ranked 48th, in a thrilling 2-1 match with scores 12-21, 21-16, 21-17.

In the second round, "Muk" Oranicha Jongsathapornpan and "Anfield" Sukritta Suwachai will face the winner between China's Kang Shu Liang and Li Hua Zhou, ranked 68th, and Japan's Kaho Osawa and Mai Tanabe, ranked 21st.

Meanwhile, "Pat" Hathaitip Mijad and "Gasjang" Napaporn Tungkasathan, ranked 54th, defeated Taiwan's Yen Fei Chen and Liang Qing Sun, ranked 47th, 2-0 with scores of 21-19, 21-18. In men's doubles, "Pee" Peeratchai Sukphan and "Omo" Pakphon Theeraratsakul, ranked 54th, beat Mael Catton and Lucas Renoir of France 2-0, 21-18, 21-10.
