
Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran delivered a powerful performance to beat the Samurai mixed doubles pair 2-0, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Badminton Championships.
At the BANK OF NINGBO Badminton Asia Championships 2026 on 9 April in China, in the mixed doubles second round, “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Supissara Paewsampran, the world’s third-ranked mixed doubles pair and third seed of the tournament, faced Yuichi Shimogami and Sayaka Hobara from Japan, ranked 17th worldwide. The Thai pair had previously beaten them in straight games once last year.
The result saw “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Supissara Paewsampran display excellent teamwork, superior speed, and sharpness to win again in straight games, 21-9, 21-16.
This victory means “Bas” Dechapol Puavaranukroh and “Fem” Supissara Paewsampran advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face China’s Guo Xinwa and Chen Fanghui, ranked seventh in the world, who defeated Wong Tien Qi and Lim Chiew Sien.
