
Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Suppisara Paewsampran defeated Supak Jomkoh and Ornicha Jongsathapornpan 2-0 to advance to the second round at the Japan Open 2026 badminton tournament.
The World Tour Super 750 badminton event, the Daihatsu Japan Open 2026 in Japan, began its first round on 14 July. In mixed doubles first round, "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Suppisara Paewsampran, ranked No. 4 in the world and seeded fourth in the tournament,
faced their compatriots "M" Supak Jomkoh and "Muk" Ornicha Jongsathapornpan, ranked 54th in the world, for the third time. In their two previous meetings, Bas and Fem had won both encounters.
This time, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Suppisara Paewsampran again played better to win 2-0 with scores of 21-19, 21-12. They advanced to the second round to face world No. 20 Taiwanese pair Yang Po-Hsuan and Hu Ling Fang, who defeated new Malaysian pair Chen Tang Jie and Clarissa Yen 2-0 with scores of 21-15, 21-19.
