Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran secured their eighth consecutive win over a Taiwanese pair to advance to the quarterfinals of the China Open 2026.
At the Victor China Open 2026, a World Tour Super 1000 event held in the People's Republic of China on 23 July, in the mixed doubles second round, "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fem" Supissara Paewsampran, the world No. 4 mixed doubles pair and fourth seed, faced the world No. 10 pair from Taiwan, Yeh Hong-Wei and Nicole Gonzalez Chan, the 2026 All England champions, marking their eighth encounter.
Throughout their eight meetings, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran have won every match. Their most recent contest was at the Thailand Open in May, where the Thai pair narrowly won 2-1 in games.
The first game was closely contested by both sides until the Thai pair edged out a 21-19 win in the final stages. In the second game, Dechapol and Supissara started strongly and closed it out 21-11, securing a 2-0 victory with scores of 21-19 and 21-11 in a 33-minute match.
This victory advances Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran to the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner between world No. 9 Cheng Xing-Zhang Chu of China and the Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe and Maya Takuchi, ranked No. 26 in the world.
