At the Yonex Taipei Open 2026 badminton tournament, a World Tour Super 300 event held in Taiwan on 29 July, in the women's doubles first round, "Muk" Oranicha Jongsatapanpun and "Sabi" Sabrina Sopita Wedler, ranked 140th in the world, faced Rui Kiyama and Sona Yonemoto, ranked 137th globally from Japan.
The result showed that in the first game, the Thai pair, "Muk" Oranicha Jongsatapanpun and "Sabi" Sabrina Sopita Wedler, known for their powerful smashes, won comfortably 21-14. In the second game, the Japanese duo led throughout the mid-game break, but the Thai pair made a late comeback to win the game 21-18, securing a 2-0 match victory in 39 minutes.
This victory allowed "Muk" Oranicha Jongsatapanpun and "Sabi" Sabrina Sopita Wedler to advance to the second round, or round of 16, where they will face another Japanese pair, Nanako Hara and Riko Kiyose, ranked 56th in the world.
