The major annual 3x3 basketball tournament, "ULTIMATE THAILAND 3X3 SERIES 2026," officially began on 5 September at Central Ayutthaya Shopping Mall. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Patsakorn Rangsivattanasak, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, alongside Mr. Nipon Chawalitmontien, President of the Basketball Association of Thailand, who also participated in the official opening.
The event atmosphere was vibrant, with basketball fans cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines. Skilled teams showcased their best performances, fiercely competing with the key goal of winning the tournament, securing a spot in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2026 in Dubai, and claiming prize money worth hundreds of thousands of baht.
The "ULTIMATE THAILAND 3X3 SERIES 2026" is a significant collaboration among the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), the Basketball Association of Thailand, and Tero Entertainment Public Company Limited. It offers Thai athletes, both youth and general public, an opportunity to fully demonstrate their potential. The competition is officially recognized by FIBA in the 3x3 Quest format, allowing participating athletes to earn points toward their FIBA 3x3 Individual World Ranking.
The competition is divided into two categories. The highlight Open Men category features 12 teams competing for the championship title, prize money of 120,000 baht, and the crucial right to participate in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2026 in Dubai, including airfare and accommodation. This makes every game intense, with each point critical on the path to the global stage.
Meanwhile, the Under-18 Men category includes 12 teams competing to discover talented young players. This supports the development of new players to become key members of the Thailand U23 national basketball team in the future.
