The Thai Senior Professional Golf Association organized the "Mini Pro-Am" to foster relations between Thai and Japanese golfers at the 2026 season-opening "Sunward Senior Championship Sekigawa Cup" held at Legacy Golf Club.
On 15 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sutin Darunyojin, president of the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association, held a MINI PRO-AM golf competition between senior professional golfers from Thailand and Japan, ahead of the 2026 season-opening "Sunward Senior Championship Sekigawa Cup" scheduled from 17-19 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at Legacy Golf Club, with a total prize fund of 1.5 million baht.
The Mini Pro-Am featured Japanese and Thai professionals alongside Thai amateur golfers including Prayad Maksaeng, Thamnoon Sriroj, Udon Duangdecha, Pancake-Khemanit Jamikorn, and Tae Setthapong Phienpo. The event aimed to bring senior golfers from both countries together to build friendship and exchange experiences through golf, strengthening relations and creating lasting memories.
In the professional category, Thamnoon Sriroj and Kin Jiro from Japan tied with scores of 8 under par to share the championship, each receiving 17,500 baht in prize money. Third place went to Chaowalit Phalaphol and fourth to Udon Duangdecha, both awarded 10,000 baht each. The amateur champion was "Tae" Setthapong Phienpo, a well-known actor.
The Thai Senior Professional Golf Association plans to hold a press conference for the 2026 Thai Senior Tour season opener on 16 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at the Rama Gardens Hotel in Bangkok.
