Revisiting the mindset of "Pro Jeen" Atthaya Thitikul, Honda LPGA Thailand 2026 champion. Alongside her skills, many are equally interested in the "huge prize money" she has received, now exceeding 549 million baht (video).
On 23 Feb 2026, the historic moment Thai golf fans had awaited arrived. "Pro Jeen" Atthaya Thitikul, aged 23, delivered an outstanding performance on the final day to win the Honda LPGA Thailand 2026 at Siam Country Club Old Course for the first time in her career, amid roaring cheers. She revealed, "This championship means the most to my heart."
This victory is not just about skill but a testament to the "mindset" that shaped her into a world-class golfer. Reflecting on an exclusive interview she gave Thairath Sport in late 2024 after winning the major CME Group Tour Championship with a prize exceeding 140 million baht, her view of "success" goes far beyond the figures in her bank account.
Golf is a challenge... Money is a stable byproduct.
Although income is positive as she is still in the "active" phase of her career, it is not what motivates her to wake up and practice every day.
"Every day in golf is challenging, and it remains so in every aspect. I expect and hope each season will improve. As an athlete, I want to perform well, but that is also a challenge because I must manage my own expectations and those others have of me."
Money management with "maturity" according to Pro Jeen Atthaya.
1. Caring for the family, the supporters behind her.
Giving back to those who have supported her to ensure their happiness and security, as family is the main driving force supporting her from the start.
2. Giving back and sharing with society.
She partnered with "Pro Khaoklong" Kiratariya Fujaroen to organize charity events under the name 'JK GOLF CHARITY.' The name JK comes from the initials of their nicknames: J (Jeeno - Pro Jeen) and K (Khaoklong - Pro Khaoklong). Now in its second year, the charity golf event raises funds to build school buildings and provide educational supplies for schools in their hometown province of Ratchaburi, including 1. Wat Laem Thong School, Bang Pae District, 2. Ban Phu Khet School, Pak Tho District, and 3. Ban Phu Muang School, all in Ratchaburi.
Most recently, in early 2026, they held JK GOLF CHARITY Year 2, raising over 9.9 million baht to donate to Somdej Phra Yuparaj Det Udom Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani Province to restore the building and purchase medical equipment after a fire incident.
3. Planning for "retirement."
Focusing on investment and building long-term security to ensure a healthy and sustainable life after retiring from competition, always aware that a golfer's career is limited in time.
Despite winning many championships, Pro Jeen still clearly affirms her "hunger" for success that money cannot buy: winning a "major" tournament, which she regards as her highest dream requiring intense focus and mental management.
She also aims for the big goal of the 2028 Olympic Games (LA 2028), which she sees as a crucial piece after learning valuable lessons from competing for the national team for the first time in Paris 2024, where the pressure was "completely different from playing for oneself."
This home victory reaffirms that when an athlete focuses on goals and manages their mindset well rather than focusing on "rewards," great results will follow naturally, as Pro Jeen has demonstrated today. She not only defeated her opponents but also won over herself and the hearts of all Thai people.
