The "Thailand Junior Championship" will be held from 13-16 August at Alpine Chiang Mai, raising the level of Thai youth golf towards the AJGA pathway in the United States.
The Thailand Junior Championship - AJGA International Pathway Series 2026 is set for a grand opening at Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai from 13-16 August 2026. This event is part of the AJGA International Pathway Series, offering young golfers worldwide the chance to develop their skills and create a path to international golf competition. It aims to provide Thai youth golfers the opportunity to compete against foreign players and advance towards competition and university education in the U.S. The Thailand Junior Championship - AJGA IPS 2026 is officially included on the AJGA International Pathway Series calendar (AJGA).
The event was honored by Mr. Surasak Kerdchantuek, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand for Sports Promotion, who presided over the ceremony. Present were Mr. Pheem Nakornsi, Head of the Sports Fund Division and Acting Deputy Manager of the National Sports Development Fund, Dr. Taweewat Taweepol, CEO of Rand Development Co., Ltd., young golfer representative Pai-Nattakrita Phiphatakorn, and Richy Kittiwattanakul, who won two AJGA titles in the U.S. (Moon Golf Junior All-Star presented by Auburn-Opelika Tourism and the AJGA Junior All-Star at Cypress Lakes), all participating in the press conference.
Mr. Surasak Kerdchantuek, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand for Sports Promotion, said this is a great opportunity for Thai youth to continue developing their golf skills and it is an important platform for making future competitive leaps. He added it is also a key policy for supporting this competition.
Mr. Pheem Nakornsi, Head of the Sports Fund Division and Acting Deputy Manager of the National Sports Development Fund, stated that they see the potential of Thai golfers to compete internationally and want to see youth develop towards strong future competition.
Dr. Taweewat Taweepol, CEO of Rand Development Co., Ltd., said it is a great honor that many sectors support this tournament. As hosts for the second time, they see it as an excellent opportunity to nurture young talent and enable progression towards international competition.
This tournament is part of the AJGA International Pathway Series, serving as preparation for major stages in the United States. The format is a 3-day, 54-hole stroke play event at Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai from 13-16 August 2026, designed to open pathways for competition and university studies in the U.S.
