Nopparutpong Boonpraves leads the Honda Racing Thailand team in the first round of the Moto4 Asia Cup at Buriram Province.
"Um" Nopparutpong Boonpraves, Thai rising star rider number 20, leads the Honda Racing Thailand team to compete in the Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup for the second consecutive year. He is considered a promising young talent in motorsport, having finished in the top 5 in Asia in the 2025 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup season and securing a third-place podium at Buriram, Thailand.
Following that, "Um" Nopparutpong Boonpraves received a wildcard entry to compete in the final round of the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at Buriram International Circuit, where he earned a runner-up podium and a third place in the AP250 class, showcasing his potential as the next standout successor.
In the 2026 season, the Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup will hold 6 rounds across 5 Asian countries: Thailand, Qatar, Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia. The races will run as support events for MotoGP and the Malaysia Superbike Championship, providing riders the opportunity to learn and gain experience on world-class circuits across Asia.
Meanwhile, the Moto4 European Cup will feature 7 rounds across 4 European countries, including 4 races in Spain and one each in Portugal, France, and Italy. Each circuit offers world-class standards with distinctive characteristics that challenge riders' skills.
The first round of the 2026 Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup will take place at Buriram International Circuit, Buriram Province. Qualifying will be held on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at 12:10 PM, with the first race at 4:10 PM. The second race will be on Sunday, 1 March 2026, at 9:45 AM.
In addition to "Um" Nopparutpong Boonpraves competing in the 2026 Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup at Buriram, "Mammy" Pongkun Iamnoy, number 25, and "Rome" Wachirawit Maidadphan, number 23, are also participating as wildcard entries. Both are promising young riders supported by Thai Honda as part of The Next Successor program to gain experience and further develop their skills.
