Reserve Senator Akrawat Pongthanachalitkul criticized Anutin, questioning what right he had to use an official government aircraft to attend the MotoGP event.
On 4 March 2026, at the Election Commission Office, Reserve Senator Akrawat Pongthanachalitkul expressed his observations regarding the MotoGP race held in Buriram on 1 March. He questioned under what privilege Prime Minister and Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul used an Air Force aircraft to attend the MotoGP opening ceremony at Chang International Circuit in Mueang District, Buriram Province, noting that many politicians were seen disembarking the plane with smiles.
Akrawat stated that while he would not comment on Anutin’s role as acting prime minister, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin used official aircraft to attend the MotoGP, which is a private event. He questioned whether it was appropriate or allowed, since Air Force aircraft are meant only for security-related duties. The public might wonder about the legitimacy of such use, especially considering that even officials using government vehicles for religious merit-making events have faced legal consequences. Therefore, he urged oversight on the use of government aircraft for inappropriate activities or events.
