
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Thailand showcased their strength in the 6-hour marathon by taking 1st and 2nd place in both class and overall at the RAAT Endurance 2026.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Thailand, a prominent and continuously successful team with 40 years of experience in Thai motorsport, supported by Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., launched the RAAT Thailand Endurance Championship 2026. Reinforcing their status as three-time consecutive champions, they delivered outstanding results in the intense 6-hour endurance race, capturing both 1st and 2nd podium positions in the TC2 class and overall at Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
For the first race, the team arranged a lineup combining highly experienced veteran drivers with promising newcomers, working systematically under strategic guidance and support from all team members. They competed against over 30 cars across various classes on the same track for a full 6 hours, concluding the race with thrilling results.
In the TC2 class, the team entered two Toyota Corolla Altis GR Sport cars. Car number 19, driven by Sutthipong Samitchat, Nattawut Charoensukhawat, and Manat Kulapalanont, finished 1st in both class and overall, completing 174 laps. Meanwhile, car number 20, driven by Natthapong Hotongkham, Grant Supapong, and Akkharaphong Akneeroth, secured 2nd place in class and overall with 173 laps.
In the TC3 class, the team fielded Toyota Yaris ATIV number 29, driven by Na Don Watthanatham, Kris Wasurat, and Shiba Kentaro, who rotated driving duties and finished 3rd in class and 12th overall, completing 153 laps.
For the TC N+ class, the team entered the Toyota Yaris ATIV HEV number 39, driven by Narrat Apiwat and Mario-Sittichai Kangnimith, competing with a hybrid vehicle under a strategy focused on combining energy efficiency with endurance. They finished 4th in class and 18th overall after completing 143 laps.
After the race, Sutthipong Samitchat, team director and driver for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Thailand, said, “I am very pleased with our team’s performance in this season opener. Everyone worked excellently together — the drivers, engineers, and support staff. Endurance racing isn’t just about speed; it requires consistency, stamina, and management over the full 6 hours. Our team maintained standards and effectively followed our plans. All drivers performed at their best, which is a positive sign for our endurance season.”
